He said everyone on board lived, even though some had “minor injuries.”
At the NAF Base in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, an aircraft from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) crashed and blew up. Edward Gabkwet, a spokesman for the NAF, revealed the news in a statement.
He said everyone on board lived, even though some had “minor injuries.”
“The chopper with the registration number NAF MI-35P crashed at exactly 7:45 a.m., not long after taking off for a mission in Rivers State to fight people who try to hurt the economy.
“Thank goodness, all five crew members survived the crash with only minor injuries. They are now being treated at the NAF Medical Centre Port Harcourt.”
“Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, is currently on his way to Port Harcourt to see what’s going on for himself, make sure the crew is safe, and give further instructions,” part of the statement read.
In May 2013, reporters from SaharaNet said the same thing happened at the NAF base: a military plane crashed in Port Harcourt after it had “an emergency.”
A Nigeria Air Force (NAF) source told Sahara Reporters that the vehicle in question was a helicopter that was on a normal training trip. Two crew members made the helicopter land when it had “an engine problem,” as he had put it.
